Family Comes First!
Wouldn’t it be wonderful to be part of a Family Ministry where kids young and old are “dragging” their parents to attend, where kids learn biblical truths and are excited about doing so?
Our Family Ministry provides a place where families are assured that it is a fun, safe and biblically grounded ministry where children can be equipped for life. Not only are the kids equipped but the parents as well. Our team believes in giving our parents every opportunity to be the leading spiritual influence in their child’s life. At SVCC - Family comes first!
We offer Sunday programs, midweek programs, summer programs, and family events throughout the year. Every program we offer is designed to build your child's relationship with God and strengthen their understanding of Him.
Children are the future! Here at SVCC we are invested in “The Church of the Next Generation”. It is our mission to come alongside families and support parents as they raise their children to know and love Christ. We instill a Biblical worldview in creative, fun and age appropriate ways. Our Sunday programs utilize Orange Curriculum.
The basic philosophy that drives Orange, is that the combined effort of the Family (yellow) and the Church (red) accomplishes much more than just the efforts of each entity individually. We are combining two influences to fuel the faith of the next generation = Orange! For more information about this curriculum go to WhatIsOrange.com.
Safety and security of our kids at SVCC are of utmost importance. All our volunteers are screened and background checked. We utilize a secure check-in process for your child.
To expedite the check in process on your first visit, you are encouraged to fill out the New Family Form ahead of time.
First impressions are important. That’s why we use a teaching strategy that helps give preschool children a first impression of their loving Father. The curriculum is simple and fun, repeating one basic truth about God all month long, using worship, fun games, engaging activities, and small group time. Parents are given a “Small Talk” handout to help them connect with their two-to-five year old during the week. They are also given a “Parent Talk” handout that prompts parents to pray for their toddler.
We want our kids to know these three key truths by age five:
No matter if you are a teacher, a parent, or a church leader, your hope is to be able to connect the love and worship of God to good decision-making for your elementary school students. We provide a strategy designed to help reinforce this thought by centering on three basic truths modeled by Jesus in Luke 2:52. By 5th grade, we want our kids to own and understand these three basic truths:
Our programs offers engaging presentations of the truths, high energy music, and cool illustrations of how God works in our lives to make us more like Him. Parents are given a “Parent Cue Card”- activities to help kids spend time with God with a parent’s guidance or on their own. Also a “God Time” hand out is given – ideas for parents that offer a starting point to talk with their kids that week.
Our student leaders are committed to help each student see God for who He is, to see themselves the way God sees them and to love others the way He loves us. By using relevant content, conversations, and relationships, our goal is for each student to know those truths the time they graduate.
We know it is important for our youth and come together each week to connect and share what God is doing in their daily lives. We offer weekly groups for all ages.
Kids represent the greatest opportunity to make a long-term impact on our world for Christ. Awana reaches kids where they’re at and walks alongside them in their faith journey. Those kids who come to faith at an early age discover God’s purpose for their lives and hope for the future. Ministry leaders and parents witness the profound impact Awana has in reaching kids with the gospel and watching them grow as long-term disciples.
Our Jr. High ministry offers small groups every week throughout the school year. It is important for your kids to make connections with peers and discuss how to live out their faith in a safe and gospel centered environment.

More than an event. Child Dedication connects parents to a community of faith and helps them imagine a bigger story. Taking that first step as parents in partnering with a community of believers from the very beginning of your journey as parents. So the local church will be a consistent source of encouragement, strength, and resources as you raise your child to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Mandatory classes held July 22 and 26 at 12:00pm in the Student Warehouse.
We want to be present for the significant moments in our child's life. First steps. First day of school. First ballgame. But what about when kids have their first questions about faith? Come to an event that will help you begin a conversation with your child about what it means to follow Jesus. All you have to do is Start Here. The event is intended for both parent and child to attend together.
