Easter Sunday, April 21
Easter tells of a Spring to come—the Beauty of God’s Creation restored to its intended majesty. At the center, the wonder of a self-giving, ever-loving God declaring His power not with might, but through sacrifice. Imagine Rembrandt sitting before an unfinished work, pouring out his ultimate creativity, his lifeblood and his love for the purpose of its completion…its wholeness. We who call on the name of Jesus stand knowing we are only in part what we are supposed to be, and together only a whisper of the chorus to come. But, we know by His life, death and resurrection that the paintbrush and palette are in hand, the last strokes at the ready, and His masterpiece unstoppable…after all, the tomb is empty, the Spirit quickening, and the King on His throne.
